Bands like early Root?

Can someone hit me with recs for bands that sound like Root did on their first three albums? I like their later material too, but I think their early stuff was so filthy, creepy, and unique. I'm slightly familiar with the Greek scene (Rotting Christ, Necromantia, and Varathron), and I'm familiar with Master's Hammer. Thanks!!

Törr (Witchhammer, Armageddon, Institut klinické smrti) and early Mortuary Drape (Into the Drape, All the Witches Dance) are the first things that come to mind. Tormentor's Anno Domini as well, maybe even something like Into the Macabre by Necrodeath.

I need to listen to more Torr and Mortuary Drape. Heard some of their work, but not all. Never heard Macabre.



This '93 Hellenic release does a pretty good job of capturing the vibe I'm looking for, in case anyone else is interested.
