Bands similar to Porcupine Tree and Riverside

Hey. I'm looking for modern prog-rock/psychadelic groups in the vein of PT and Riverside. I'm mostly looking for newer stuff, so no 70's music like Pink Floyd etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can check out steve wilson's side projects, No-Man and Blackfield. There's also Marillion, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, The Flower Kings, Neal Morse (pretty much anything off the Magna Carta label).

Stick to the old stuff... most new bands aren't doing anything the classic haven't already done.

Sylvan are a great band to check out. Their albums Artificial Paradise and Posthumous Silence are great.

Listen to Camel and forgot about anything else. Not new, but such limitations are ridiculous.

Great band. It's a shame they're so overlooked.

Check out Spock's Beard, particularly their latest "Octane". It's very much in that vein.

Another AWESOME band that waay overlooked is Arena. Check out "The Visitor".


Of course, their are the classic bands Anathema, Katatonia, the Gathering, In the Woods.
