No way mate, while Spiral Architect is obviously influenced by Watchtower, SA are much more musically conscoius (ie. less masturbation) and their vocals and song structures are very well constructed considering they are a technical metal band. IMO Spiral Architect are everything everybody liked from Watchtower plus a whole lot more...

If it weren't for the abominable singing, a lot more people would be open to the greatness that was Watchtower, who were more chaotic, but perhaps a bit less technical than Spiral .. somehow. Either way you can't call them a copy when only a few bands ever even played in the same league/style.

Sure you can - there's only one Celtic Frost, but that hasn't stopped Usurper from ripping them off almost note for note.
