Bands you like that no one else does

obscure late 90s prog metal

I think turf talk - west coast vaccine is the best rap record of the last 5 years, but I don't see too much praise for it ever.

99 percent of rap from canada is musical aids, but cadence weapon's first album is dope as fuck.

and american rap fans hate grime and anything with a british accent but I love it. It has a lot of energy that US hip hop is missing lately.

BLOODY HELL! GRUNTRUCK! :o DW, i believe you just won some win points. I thought i was the only one.

Also TAD.

And Type O Negative.:heh:

I've noticed that you and I have nearly the exact_same_tastes in music.

You were a teenager in the 90's, weren't you? I was. This music sticks with me even today, which is why AIC is still my favorite band.

We were all so pissed off, angry, and disenfranchised then...not like today where kids just complain for the sake of complaining and live with their parents until they're 35.

We were so idealistic and naive at times, but we always had integrity. If we said we'd move out and live on our own by the time we were 20, we'd do it...even if it meant living on the street.

Mainstream music took a shit and completely died after 1997, imo.

EDIT: Yep, I just looked at yer profile. We're around the same age.

Oh yeah, I love me some Ours. His wail at the end of this song is fucking epic. He's got this kinda Jeff Buckley on steroids kinda thing going on.

Sometimes was a great song too.

Beseech. I love this album...really poppy and catchy. Their other album didn't do anything for me though.

To/Die/For...kinda cheesy goth rock but catchy as all hell

Better Than Ezra...they're from south Louisiana and used to play a bunch of shitty clubs every weekend before they got big.

Porcelain was a fucking beautiful song they wrote too.

Communic:
I love Communic. I thought they were very well-respected and appreciated in general?

My bands that I like and nobody else does:

Danzig, although I used to like his music more back then

Edguy, by many of you affectionally and totally-not-insultingly called Edgay

Blaze Bayley

Poverty's No Crime (everyone probably hates them due to their gay-ass band name)

t.A.T.u. (yes t.A.T.u! I don't care for the entire fake-lesbo act, but those chicks made some good music)

Queen (still associated by too many people with homosexuality, sexual extravagance and AIDS)

There's more I can't think of right now.

Oh I fucking LOVE Danzig. Every album.

Also I'm sure many people like this song, but not many people our age do. It's still probably the most beautiful pop song every written.

In comparison to their others, not so much but it's a nice change of pace sometimes. It's a must for the collection just because it's so different.

Heh. Well i never really was an overtly angsty teen. I do agree alot of stuff took a turn for the worst around 1997. Hmmm i wonder why that is. I never even could stomach mallmetal since it seemed too gimmicky and plastic to me.

DANZIG! <3
Stormo, I love Queen. That was brilliant band with one of the best frontmen in history.

I mentioned Communic because everyone I play them for always says "ehhhhh, it's ALL RIGHT I guess...". I think they're fucking brilliant and I also think Nevermore fans are probably going to at least somewhat enjoy them by default ;)

The Birthday Massacre, Im sure no one in here likes them so yes I'm prapared for major flaming:rolleyes:
Haven't met anyone that likes them, they always tell me that they have a weird sound. Well maybe, but at least they are quite different imo. Anyways enough with my blabbering heres a link to one of their vids:)

OMG, I just thought of this one. I still love this song and album...TTWS was a great alternative band and years later I still listen to it regularly.

The Cranberries. Granted they were pretty popular once upon a time, but I don't know many metal folk who dig em like i do. Though they are/were/whatever pretty hit or miss, but they have some great songs.

I love me some Cranberries too. Linger is a really powerful song.

Oh man I just thought of this one too...I would sit in my room and listen to this song for HOURS. Quite possibly the saddest song ever written.

I like them, I think Emily here likes them too. Too bad the singer can't sing live.

Interesting. I really don't think that song is all to bad.
