Banned from Sevenstring.org for a month...

Most of the people banned from SS are banned for fair reasons. There are only a few active mods over there, and there is far too much work for them to do for them to be able to get anything done without swinging the ban hammer around a bit. I'm not saying this as a SS forumite who is "defending his home turf" or anything like that, as I tend to be here or on other sites a lot more often these days, but I was there enough to understand why the mods are running things the way they are.

Guru, why do you hate JJ so much? You were bitching about this/him on the Nevermore forum, too. He wasn't doing anything but calling you on your trolling, which is why you got banned. Then again, that's why you hate most of the people on the Nevermore forum, too, isn't it? I think you're just upset that he refused your sexual advances because you're too old.

More importantly (back to the OP), it's an internet forum. If you can turn right around and talk shit about it so readily, then it's probably not important enough to you to be worth stirring up shit on other forums.

I can't remember exactly what it was, but I was talking about the Axe FX and he came in with "ZOMG Axe FX is gay and t00bz rule" or something along those lines. I don't know how many times I need to say I don't use it for modeling anymore and I am using tubes, but he was just being really ignorant and dismissive of it from what I can recall. Hell, I hate the 5150 which is another thing people love the shit out of, but I'm not a dick about it and even recommend it to people who are probably looking for that sound. I don't think I've ever been banned once over there, and that's saying something considering the kind of jokes I make.

EDIT: If I recall correctly, he also edited all his posts in one of the threads to say something like "All members here are idiots and I'm never coming back" with some other really offensive/abusive stuff in it. THAT'S why he got banned. I don't know why he's so butthurt about being banned if he doesn't want to be there so bad

I can't imagine a worse set of mods than what they used to have, though - Chris was a whiney little power-hungry bitch, and Noodles was a batshit crazy, ultra-entitled sociopathic bald ass fucking midget. Guys like Shannon and Donny were alright, aside from the fact that they never called their fellow admins out on their bullshit and let the kind of shit happen that did.

I signed up here just to let you know that I don't remember you, but you hurt my feelings. :( You're right about Noodles though. He is bald as hell, and can't hold his liquor.

I took that whole terrible mod team with me to MG, where you are more than welcome to sign up and flirt with Shannon and Donnie.

Edit: OP - Condolences on your ban. :)

I'm not crying my eyes out about it. It's really not that big of a deal. 90% of the time I go on there I only post in the General Discussion area when I'm bored and want to read/post about a new guitar/album/song that's coming out.

I was just pointing out yet another example of how fucking ridiculous the mods are over there. It's bad enough that more than half the forum members there nowadays are 14-16 year old kids constantly talking talking about djent and pretending to be jazz fusion elitists with their heads shoved up their asses, but we also have to deal with the mods running the place like a dictatorship, constantly banning anyone who disagrees with them or questions their almighty decisions. The majority of bans are for completely trivial bullshit. After viewing the public ban list, Randy definitely seems to be the worst of the bunch, but the rules & mods in general are WAY too strict & uptight.

It's an internet forum about music. It's meant for musicians to have discussion. People should be allowed to have different opinions and not have to worry about being banned just because a mod dislikes their opinion. People should also be able to question mods banning people for insignificant reasons as long as they aren't being an asshole about it. Who really wants to tip toe around the mods, only posting the same exact opinions as everybody or not posting at all just to keep from being banned?

Its nothing but a bunch of Petrucci / Broderick / Loomis fan bois who cant afford real gear

:(

 Fuckin ay man.

ss.org was a cool as fuck place, and I'll always stand by that. It's gone to shit and a lot of people feel aggrieved about it (including yours truly) particularly those who made financial contributions :)waah:).

Chris, dude, I don't bring this up on mg.org because there's enough of it already and I'm sure you're sick of it but I dug the shit out of ss.org back in your hay day. I also love mg.org too of course, but these butthurt fuckers who start "I GOT BANNED, WAAAAHHH!!" threads have only come about since the forum changed hands, yet the forum gets bashed in its entirety.

I do fucking hate what it's become, and my GOD i wish it was Petrucci/Broderick/Loomis fanbois, but it most certainly ain't! :(

DJENT DJENT DJENT DJENT DJENT DJENT DJENT....

Also I just gotta add that inter-forum battling like this is becoming more and more common, and what you say on one forum has repercussions on another which is absolutely retarded. I had a rant about jemsite on ss.org once, where one of the jemsite mods is a regular member, and he saw the thread... and fuckin perma-banned me! Surely that's not how it should work? I'm saying this because everytime I say something about ss.org elsewhere (even if it's largely positive, which my comment was... largely) it'll get dragged up next time some big shot wants to make a point and brings up the whole "WELL WHAT ABOUT THE TIME YOU SAID THIS! *quote* " wildcard. If I wanna post there I'll fuckin post there, just because I'm verbalising my unhappiness about something doesn't mean my rights to be there are null and void.

Just my 2 cents.

This is why the mods have become so heavy handed. After Chris sold the site, it went to shit for awhile, but the quality of posts/posters has been getting better.

I have seen a couple instances where people have been banned for stuff I would have just deleted and let it go, but I'm not a mod. People are allowed to express themselves, but the ones who do it in a dickish way are dealt with. When people say "I was banned for expressing my opinion!" it's not really accurate. I say a lot of shit people don't generally agree with, but I'm still around.

I didn't see what got you banned so I don't know if it applies to you or not.

I've seen plenty of cases where "I was banned for expressing my opinion!" was dead on accurate. I'll sum it up for you. Randy bans some guy for making a comment just SLIGHTLY negative about a band. He posts "fuck the haters" because he personally likes said band. Then he bans me for asking why said guy was banned over something so trivial.

If that guy's same comment was in a thread about a different band it would have gone completely ignored. Mods allowing their personal opinions on music to affect who they ban is seriously stupid. I get that they don't want people to act like dicks, but some of the mods themselves act like total dicks constantly, but apparently nobody is allowed to call them on their bullshit. The nerd rage is ridiculous.

Quite curious to see what you had written before the edit, but...

Really? because you definitely started other threads about me after I was banned and voiced my distaste for SS.org on the Seymour Duncan forum, which included digging up and posting pictures that were originally on my MySpace (which was not linked to from my account on either forum at the time).

This was, of course, AFTER I was banned. Before I was banned, you and your douche-buddy Noodles only changed my password, avatar, profile information, and signature. Not an abuse of admin powers by any means!

Sign up for metalguitarist.org? Seriously? I hate most metal heads and and I hate most guitarists - why in god's name would I want to sign up for a forum that hosts a veritable orgy of the worst from both?

It wasn't because he expressed his opinion, it's a form of trolling to go into a thread about a genre and say "This sucks", and the questioning the mods thing has always been a rule at ss, even in Chris's day. I've seen people being banned over genre trolling in stuff other than After the Breakdown (which I assume is the thread), so it's not just personal opinion. It's been stated lots of times not to do that.

I guarantee that I could make a thread about black metal, someone would go into it and shit talk it, and they'd be banned even though it's probably the least liked genre on the board. Heavy handed? Sure, but not unprecedented.

lol Okay, if you say so, man...

Perhaps they should put it in the rules of the forum then instead of expecting people to read it in the public ban list/off topic section/etc. where a huge portion of members never look.

Just go ahead and post this in the Rules section so everything is clear:
"This is a dictatorship. We do not care about your opinions. We, as mods, can and will do whatever we want, whenever we want. Do not question our authority or you WILL feel the wrath of our collective nerd rage."

I guarantee that I could make a thread about black metal, someone would go into it and shit talk it, and they'd be banned even though it's probably the least liked genre on the board. Heavy handed? Sure, but not unprecedented.

I doubt it. I've seen TONS of threads containing people bashing various bands/songs/guitars/brands/etc.. I've even seen mods joining in and laughing about it. Doesn't bother me at all though, because people should be allowed to say they don't like something. If you aren't directly insulting/attacking other people in the thread, then who really gives a shit? Give me a fucking break...

That place is full of idiot cunts. I remember the "what does tight mean" argument Jeff had that made me scratch my head at the stupidity.

Shit, I think it was Markus. Damn it. Something about why boosts are used and blah blah blah. Doesn't negate the fact that literally 95% of that place is idiots.

That was the Mesa Grailtone forum, and I don't think he got banned (at least not for that specific thread).

http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/off-topic-tavern/513272-must-not-get-banned-must-not-get-banned.html

Because it's a slippery slope. Everyone hates some genre of music. I hate djent, breakdown-core, and a bunch of other shit, and so do a lot of people. They just don't want the place to be full of people bickering over genres. Once you let that shit slide, then you have like 20 people arguing back and forth over something stupid. Questioning the mods I believe has always been in the rules, but they did go ahead and post an updated rule list.

And posting a thread about "Hey this band sucks" and having people join in has always been a no no there. They used to just close the threads, but since it happened all the time, they upped it to banning people.

Tom,

1st let me say the Nevermore forum is very different from everything else. 2nd I really dont hate anyone there...lol Thats all part of the persona over there. Why the hell else do you think they plan on doing the next meetup in Vegas ....lol. OK maybe I do dislike Brooks but thats for very good reason, but not enough to kick him in the dick. Ill still buy the guy a beer when he gets here ...lol

As for JJ, fuck him in his pedophile ass. Thats right JJ you read it here :)

They guy is the biggest purveyor of non-sensical bullshit on SS.org. Any time ANY member over there comes up with something regarding "tube amps" and "real amps" JJ has to chime in with his AxeFX crap.

My banning from SS.org had nothing to do with trolling. It had everything to do with starting a thread about a power soak for a tube amp and Mr. Pedophile coming in and saying his AxeFX was better for X-Y-Z-r reason which of course was bullshit. I stated MANY time in the offending thread that I have no issues with the AxeFX and if he liked it he could have it. I also asked him numerous times to stay out of the discussion as it was not an "AxeFX" vs "Tube Amp" discussion, but being the fucking douche nugget he is he couldn't shut the fuck up.

SS.org is full of nothing but fanboi's and ignorant morons who know nothing about "quality". Its a bunch of shred head fag's that do nothing but jerk each other off under the table cause no-body else in the world will listen to the shit music they produce, write, record, and talk about.

Once in a blue moon you will get someone like Per, Broderick, or Fruit of The Loomis who pops in and says Hi, or post some valuable tid bit of info. Other then that the place is trash.

I dont know why 1/2 of you hang out there. Its not like they talk about "quality" gear. Right now the G.A.S. thread is full of morons wanting to buy "Black Machine" guitars and they have never played one let alone heard of them before Misha bought one. They all G.A.S. for Bare Knuckle pickups yet 90% of them have never even heard them in a guitar. I dont even have to mention the AxeFX BS that goes on over there. We all know how bad it is.

So one again with feeling I say FUCK YOU JJ, FUCK YOU IN YOUR STUPID ASS :)

I Love SS.org!

EDIT: And yes I did post something to the effect of FUCK YOU SS.ORG cause all your members are assholes, but thats was on a 2nd account I had to make after the initial ban for JJ being a douche nugget :)

So with that I say goodbye to this thread, and the bullshit.

FUCK SS.org in its stupid ass :)
