On my 5 string the low B is nowhere near as defined sounding as the rest of the bass even to the point of hardly being able to really hear the notes. I tuned it to A yesterday and its not even worth recording :p Ive played some friends basses in the past with a really nice tight mid rangey low B.

Id like some suggestions on how I could tighten this up.

Possibly raising the action, new strings (gauge/brand) etc?

:kickass:

Its a Spector Q5, its a good sounding bass, im thinking a string change or something might help. Ill have a look into those Lowriders, thanks csholt :) Any specific gauge you guys like for the B - drop A?

When I was BEAD-tuning my Thumb, I always used a .130. 140's didn't seem to gain me any more noticeable tension, it just hurt playability.
