Meet me half way here, Spawny. What's a live album that you consider a dud? Good, now add heaps of dubbed-in audience sounds. Is it a better album now? :)

Hmmmmmmm....... I dont like Slayers Decade Of Aggression... But add a crazy crowd singing along, then yes, I would enjoy it :D Live albums are ALL about atmosphere, not the band getting everything right (IMHO anyway) :)

I quite like that album, actually. And I thought live albums were about being a recording of the band's live act.

Gee, this is a one-sided poll, innit? I wonder how it would be if I didn't include LAD.

It's what's recently been diagnosed as the Bootleg Syndrome... where someone collects so many audience taped bootlegs that the patient starts believing proper live albums should have excess amounts of crowd noise too. The condition is terminal, but scientists are working on a cure.

Exactly. I'm sure Spawny would love live albums even more if they all had a drunken kid in one speaker singing along tunelessly. Oh, and have people talking to each other in between songs as well :)

My favorite live album ever is Children of bodom-Toyko warhearts but then Rock in rio so i voted for that :)
