one clip is the Jackson, the other one the ESP, same pickups, same strings etc....which one do you prefer?

A

B

both have a maple neck, alder body, ebony fretboard, neck through construction...
the differences:

JAckson neck/body-joint: 20th fret, FR trem

ESP: n/b-joint: 23rd fret, Kahler Trem

I'd use A if I want a fat sound and B if I want a tight sound. Both sound useful imo.

A: ESP

B: Jackson

For this riff I much prefer B, but Im sure A will be very useful in wallofsound stuff.

A vs B reminds me my Charvel Model 6 (poplar) vs Caparison TAT (alder) :)
I.e. A (jackson) close to poplar to me.
But I tested poplar Jackson Stars SL-138 and it was close to alder Caparison TAT...

Fusions were mostly from basswood, mahogany or ash...
Only Grover Jackson (Japan) catalog of 1993 listed Super Dinky (SDK, japan name for Fusion) made from yellow poplar, but this is japan internal line, not for export...

Not exactly

Here is Fusion Pro from 1992, basswood body...
1990-91 catalog does not have exact specification on Fusions excluding Charvel Fusion Plus with ash body.
Later models does not have Fusion Pro name and mostly made from basswood except Fusion HH (mahogany).
And also excluding internal Japanese Super Dinky (SDK) models (ash, poplar, mahogany).
