What is the tuning of the Bazouki on Orphaned Land records? Are they tuned to the guitars or is there a different tuning for them. I want to do some Oriental sounding metal but don't want to buy one just in case I can't tune it.

Hey man... sup?

I'll tell Yossi about this thread and he will apear in no-time, cool?

Anyhow, I'm sure that wherever you buy the instrument from, you can ask the guy who sells it to you for the notes that you need in order to tune it.

:)

The tune is C - F - A - D, one of the more known tunings (at least to me), hence there was no special tuning for the buzuki to compell with the guitars, since the song was originally written for Bouzouki and the metal guitars only came later (not that we don't do special tuning when needed - for example, see the Saz's B - F# - B tune in Ocean land, which is by the way, again, a song written on Saz in C scale and adpated to metal later while dropping to B to fit the seven strings "bouldozers" in the background) :p

Thanks for your help, also I was wondering if you would ever use Sitar's on future records? I know there not Israeli but they still sound awesome.

Sitar is an Indian instrument my friend, not as in native American Indian, but Far East India Indian. I always had a dream about combining this instrument in one of our pieces, and I'm not excluding the possibility of making it happen in the future.

Oh and btw, the name of the instrument is Buzuki, and not Bazuki. Just for common knowledge. :)

I know Sitar is Indian, all I was wondering was if you would ever consider using one? Thanks for the correction regarding the Buzuki as well.
