Be on the lookout for new VST-3 plugs soon!

In the most recent issue of recording I forgot to mention that Steinberg has released developer packages for the new VST-3 plugins.

So anyone using the newest software packages is the new plugin tech worth the upgrade?

I take it they'd only be compatible with Cubase 4? I wonder when other DAW's (Reaper, Sonar, etc.) would be able to integrate 'em...also, what do you think the advantage of upgrading the plugin standard would be? Greater system resource efficiency?

According to VST maillist developers have troubles with developing plugins in VST3 format - even examples in SDK have troubles with compilation - still many bugs.
Only some developers with close relation to Steinberg have such plugins. So currently do not expect many plugs

using the cubase4 vst3 plugins all the time....can't wait to get 3rd-party vst3.

a sidechainable vst3 version (I know, I know....) of MH Channelstrip would be great

But seriously lasse; i wouldnt expect anything this century from Mh. they are slow as hell with updating
