i listened to them a couple of months ago at guitar center along with mackie 8inchers, event studio precision 8, dynaudio bm5a. not a rigid comparison going on i was just listening in their shitty room. i really liked the way the hs80 sounded. super full sounding which surprised me cause i thought they would sound more like ns10s. i want to try a pair in my room. i want to like them for some reason. the dynaudios were sweet and detailed. much more lows than i thought they would have for a smaller monitor. the asp8 were sweet as well but i thought they would sound alittle better than they did. i intend to try all these out in my room this year and upgrade my tr8s(which have served me well and i like them alot). the only ones i know i wouldnt buy are the mackies. they sounded like they would hurt your ears in about three seconds, super hyped. but monitors are so personal to the individual and the room they are in.Rich - Rannoch said:Does anyone here have any experience of the new (?) Yamaha HS80 or HS50 powered reference monitors? Any good or rubbish?
