Best Bass player ever.

Jaco Pastorius was a jazz/funk bass player
he owns, only Vic Wooten comes close, but their styles and techniques are very different.

The thread is best bass player ever, not only in metal

No.Cliff Burton would be the Jesus of bass.
But only because he's dead and overrated.
I'll say the bass player from Matchbox 20 because it's the retarded answer that a poll like this calls for.

Steve Harris (The man who got me to pick up my Fender P-Bass), Eric Langlois, Les Claypool, Cliff Burton, Lemmy Kilmister (I know he plays pick, but damn it he's still good), the bassist from soilwork, david ellefson, sharlee d'angelo (please see Lemmy yuou blokes), Steve DiGiorgio.

as a sidenote, i would also like to add micheal manring, i had a chance to see him perform at my local guitar center, and my goodness, the man isn't human.

Cliff Burton, Les Claypool, Flea, John Myung is pretty good too.

[*Ktulu has played a Yamaha 6-string John Myung signature version... 'twas a nice bass.]

But Anaesthesia (Pulling Teeth) is just bullshit in terms of what a bass normally does

Go Cliff.
