Best looking male

well, i recently got to know some canadians and before they mentioned that they are canadian, i thought they were american! there wasn't even the slightest difference in behavior or how they talked! well, maybe their accent was slightly different, but i couldn't tell! they were just about the same hip-hop-styled coool acting blokes like you see them on every us-high school! when a guy, who's not gay, by the way, tried to put his arm around one ( i guess in a friendly way) the canadian guy asked me:" is that a european(!! he didn't even say 'austrian' pfff!) thing for guys to touch each other? in canada we don't do that, when i left for europe, it was the first time in years, that i huged my dad!"
man, those guys were really..odd! ok, i don't believe, that all canadians are like this, i just wanted to tell a story here!
i don't think, that canadians and americans are that different like for instance swedes and spaniards! someone might want to add his opinion here!

I've noticed the same thing about canadians, you don't know if they're from Canada unless they tell, and yeah, people can be very different from each other, I hug and kiss my dad every time I see him and we're just below the u.s.a...

I think I understand what Fleischwolf means.... There are differences - big ones to - one cannot deny that! Just from north to south Europe! There are differences - but then, that's what is so great!

And..hehe.... what a rediculous "warning"
at the start of the show!? How old is this?!
The way the reporter is trying to be serious
and "hard" is just....lol! >:eek:P Hehehe....
Then you have Varg's tiny little voice! Hihi >)
I'm only through the first part, but I'm
already looking forward to the next bit!
I think they both are more or less right after he was put in prison... not certain though
and yeah, the warning is prety stupid.. hehe :)
and the music that comes sometime, pluss the voice of the reporter(first one) make it sound like a comedy thing :D

doesn't "gamle synder" translate to "old sins" or "old sinners"? that sounds rather christian!
yes, it means old sins... and well, most norwegian stuff is christian hehe :)
the first one was on the radio station P4, and the second on P2...

well Swedes are different to Spaniards, but at least I think we all Europeans tend to hug our parents more oftenly ;)

but just for the fact....distance is not the reason for physical differences...you wouldn't tell between an amercian and a canadian, but you would tell between a mexican and an american, and the distance can be even littler!!!
You could pass a Norwegian for a Swede, but Finns are quite different to Swedes and there's the same distance....dunno...may be it's the place itself that's different...

@DWD: well americans are all something else! what is a pure american then? an indian? all americans are immigrants (except the indians)! irish-american, french-american, afro-a., german-a., italo-a., greek-a., and so on!

@father vic:yes, finns are different! they are often viewed as scandinavians , when in fact they aren't! their culture and language is a total different one, close related to the estonian! isn't it Qsilver?:D :) :D :)

*substituting Qsilver* :p

That's right, Finland is not a Scandinavian country, it's more often connected to the Baltic ones. The language and population is fino-ugric (hungarian, estonian, lapp)

am i completely mistaken? :D

I once read somewhere that the language of the Finns had similarities to Korean and the Eastern European languages. I may be wrong about this... I know very little about the origins of different languages.

welll, basque, finnish, estonian and hungarian are the only non-indo-european languages spoken in europe! finnish and estonian are closely related, hugarian belongs to the same languagegroup(finno-ugrian), but has developed different, so that nowadays, finnish and hungarians don't understand each other as far as i know! basque isn't related to any other language spoken in the world! it allready was spoken long before the first indo-europeans settled in europe!

the hungarains used to be a nomad( ;) ) people like the hunns! they were riding across eastern europe and rob other peoples villages until they got beaten by a german (one of the first austrian) warlord! they got christianized and settled where now is hungary!

egeszegedre (means cheers in hungarian)! :D :D :D :D

But they're still nordic...

And actuallty, there are more similarities in language than we may be aware of - when it comes to the most ancient words for things that has ALWAYS been important to man, there's quite many similarities. Between finnish and the "similar" languages, the germannic languages and - well, in fact ALL languages! This is about different words for Sun, Moon, Earth, holy things.... and so on. There's a looong list of such words in a book I have.

Going back to what Fleischwolf was saying earlier about nazis and what not.. the fact some are STILL having their gay bullshit movements makes me want to rethink the idea of getting the German flag inked on my arm.

I dont support bands who are nazis or rascist or any of that shit. I dont want my hard-earned money going to those pieces of shit. Those fucking losers drag down our entire society, and are no better than the coward fundamentalist islams responsible for murdering my friends [Im a NYer]. Thanks, but no thanks.. music is music... beliefs are beliefs... a gimmick is a gimmick. I'll buy an Eminem CD.. because he DOESNT hate homosexuals.. it's a gimmick.. it's his gag, his joke.. if he hated them.. he wouldnt kick it with Elton John. Varg hates Christians... and thus, is a piece of shit.

J

Yeah, finnish belongs to Finno-Ugric languages, along with estonian and hungarian. Those are three main Finno-Ugric languages. There are the base vocabulary, contains about 2000-6000 words, which is very alike in all those languages.
Estonian language is easier to understand for us than Hungarian (ie I can understand few words of estonian but hardly any hungarian). And if assorted more accuretaly, Hungarian would belong to Ugrian languages and Finnish & Estonian to Finnic languages.

But though our languages are related, there aren't that much cultural or genetic similarities between different Uralic nations.

.... I really don't know what this has to do with 'best looking male' or does this even make sense at all... I'm not expert in these things :)

edit: http://www.notam02.no/~hcholm/altlang/ht/Finnish.html for some finnish expressions and swear words :D
some may find those exultant

Q, I found this somewhere last night. Is it actually right?
The Joys of Finnish:
"Kokko, Kokoon koko kokko." ("Kokko, gather together the whole bonfire.")
"Kokoko kokko?" ("The _whole_ bonfire?")
"Koko kokko, Kokko." ("The whole bonfire, Kokko.")
