Best metal drummer

Black Core, didn't you use to idolize slipknot, or was that someone else?

I could care less that mike is the fastest in the world, because even if he wasn't, he would still own. I couldn't play some of his stuff even at half speed...

not that I can remember. I like them and defend their music (except for vol.3 cuz they totally sold out with that album), however I've never idolised them

I just respect mike for being able that fast but he lacks originality in his drumming. He's just fast, he doesn't have any real rythm imo.

i consider Sean Reinert (Cynic, Aghora, Gordian Knot, Aeon Spoke, ex-Death) as the best metal drummer out there, or at least one of the best

Okay, seriously? No real 'rythm'? But you have to admit he's got 'rhythm', right? No way you can deny that. I guess his WFD solo was a little mechanical, but his other solos are very groovy, especially for metal. And he is fucking laughing while doing complicated polyrythms that you couldn't even comprehend, much less play. Unoriginal my ass. I bet you don't like thomas haake either, do you?

Hypnos, I agree that sean reinhart owns.

^now this is the problem with kids these days, they hear something they like and immediately idolize band members. I'm not saying LOG sucks or anything but Adler is far from a god

I agree in that he probably shouldn't be considered a "god", but there is definitely a lot of talent in his style, especially in comparison to the majority of popular metal drummers. He's also created some innovative techniques for footwork.

Yes, the band that would fit that if you've only heard A Favor House Atlantic. Go listen to Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness. Absolutely awesome album.

spelling errors do happen sometimes :Smug:
He has some good ones but in comparission to oh, let's say George Kollias he's got very little to show except for his speed
I don't listen to Meshuggah much so I can't really judge Haake.

George is good, and might even be a better blaster then mangini, since he has more interesting blast patterns, but he is absolutly blown away by mangini on actual drum solos. Like the one I posted on page one. Show me a drum video better then that one and I will change my mind.
