Best metal drummer

I love kolias, but he isn't in the same league as mike mangini, thomas haake, sean reinert, gene holgan, and company. I'm sorry black but you can't win anything by falling back on the "its just an opinion" card. Its like folding in poker.

Anyone here like a non-metal drummer called johnny rabb?

Yeah he's awesome! Jojo mayer's another awesome non-metal drummer, he plays drum and bass kinda stuff, he's inhumanly fast...

I agree completely about Kolias by the by, he is fast but he's not particularly interesting to listen to, especially when compared to people like Reinert or bobby jarzombek.

Oh and to the guy from ages ago that was wondering why people respect buddy rich so much...the answer is that not only was he insanely fast, he also had flawless technique and was a genius composer (most of his stuff was improvised). But the main reason for me is that he invented several new techniques and concepts that are in widespread use today, he had a huge impact on drumming as a whole.

actually it is about opinion, just like always because Kolias is the best imo (untill I hear someone better) and Mangini isn't. you might just like diffrent things in drumming then me, which does make it about opinion

I am a big fan of Dan Presland of Ne Obliviscaris, he has a ton of drumcam videos up on youtube if you want to check him out. He is a great tech death drummer, incredibly fast (he holds the Australian fastest feet title), he can also do much slower less aggressive styles well however (listen to how he drums during the flamenco section of Tapestry on Ne Obliviscaris's Myspace)
