So, Shabazz Palaces is just 1987 revisited, right? And Washed Out is in 1983 New Wave revisited... they're cool and all, but there is nothing new I'm hearing.

You're more correct about Washed Out than Shabazz Palaces (though I'm hard pressed to think of anything that literally feels like a sweet ocean breeze that came out in 1983). Maybe the Shabazz track I posted doesn't do it justice, because those are about the most unearthly beats I've ever heard.
