Best Prog Death Metal Band

I don't know if they quite count but Necrophagist are an excellent death metal band with, whose songs bear repeated listens brilliantly.

Necrophagist imo are more of a tech/brutal DM band rather than prog

theyre not death, and theyre not progressive. so...no.

people...having acoustic guitars and/or keyboards doesnt make you a progressive band.

I'd probably have to say Opeth is my favorite but later-era Death is right on par with them. Cynic and Atheist are great too.
