I'm well aware that most on here won't be into the two big bands, and that's fine. This tour is stellar because of the undercard.

In Solitude, in my not-very-humble opinion, are the best band in metal right now. Period. No questions asked. Their show in Atlanta in Sept 2011 with Down is honestly one of the ten best sets I've ever seen. I know I've posted about them on this board before, but I'm gonna do it again. Listen to this now.

So, The Devil's Blood. Despite their name, this band has more in common with Roky Erickson than with Slayer. Just pure, catchy, occult rock with excellent female vocals. I can probably count on one hand the number of 'female vocal' bands I really, really enjoy, and TDB are absolutely on that list. Been wanting to see them for a while, and it's great that they're coming through on such a great package.

If you do end up at this tour, please watch Watain, even if you don't like black metal. Their live show really is very good. Just don't stand in the front, unless you want to end up covered in swine blood....

Behemoth is Behemoth. Tight and killer every time, even if their recent studio output is lacking.

I will be seeing this tour on Friday the 13th...how is that for perfect! Killer concert weekend with this on Friday and Ghost and Opeth on Saturday. Life is good. :kickass:

In Solitude sounds like they have a strong King Diamond vibe, minus the shrills, or is that just me?

Nah, you're 100% right. That was the first thing I noticed about them, too. This was the first song of theirs I heard and it screams KD/MF....

I never really considered going to this show, but after listening to the samples posted and reading a few comments I'm re-considering. At the very least it would be fun to take photos of some of these groups, but I don't fancy the idea of having my camera covered in swine blood. Oh, it also happens to be in the middle of my finals week. We'll see...

Will be there no question for the Lawrence, KS, show. I do enjoy Watain, and I didn't know they actually throw blood in the crowd. I'll stand back for that, but am looking forward to seeing them.

I saw In Solitude's MDF performance and thought they were killer as shit.

You know... one can only dream that someday this country will have a visa-issuing processing system that makes sense for artists and other professionals coming from abroad to work here... agents who are less worried about musicians coming into the US to perform, and instead focus on people who can REALLY pose a threat to the country.

First Sabaton and now this.

100% agreed. However in this case, Watain has/had members with criminal pasts so that probably threw up a red flag. They've had to have different live members for US shows in the past.

That does raise a red flag for sure. However, it's still a valid point to consider that it's unfair to leave the decision of whether a band can or can't come into the country to play their music in the hands of a single/few individuals.

What if the visa agent is a very devout Christian who frowns upon a Satanic band coming into the country and decides to deny the visas? Is that right? I don't know man, it seems that things have the potential to get way too personal with the current process, and they really shouldn't.
