BFD Vs DFH and Metal Grooves

G'Day All,

What a dissapointment BFD turned out to be, I just bought it and spent the day going over it and found it very lacking in the Metal Genre.

They have 8 Metal options in the Groove library that sound nothing like heavy metal, but all 8 sound very similar.

When I see Metal, I expect double kick and a snare that will crack my head open, what I got was something that belongs in the Pet Shop Boys...

Maybe the expansion pack has Metal ?

Does any one else have good / bad experiences ? is there access to a greater variety of "METAL" grooves and fills, or should I bite the bullet and buy DFH ?

I just tried out BFD recently. It was a bit of a nightmare to get running because they hadn't streamlined the install process and I ended up just transferring everything manually.

After that, I found it sorely lacking in the departments I needed it. It just didn't have the sound I'm after.

So basically I'm just hanging in there till I get the money for DFHS.

DFHS has dropped in price iirc so maybe its worth doing, a lot of people can get decent metal sounds out of it but you need to really work with it, it's not an instant gratification tool.
