DFH vs. BFD

For what it's worth, I own a copy of DFHS. The left/right hand samples are what did it for me. One thing I've noticed for blasts.... certain snares sound great with the 'one hand' approach, but others sound better with 'alternating hands.' Overall, it's a great program to work with.

DFHS has a slight problem, they didn't edit the samples sharp. The drummer I work with at the moment complained that the timing of the samples wasn't ok, so I took a look inside the wavefiles. Turned out the variation from datastart to actual sound can be as much as 9 Milliseconds, ask any drummer how much that is and he won't like it when that's added to his performance, expecially when it's random. This was on a hihat, but some cymbals also have this problem (toms, kick & snare are -ofcourse- DFA). And it's not a constant delay. Right now I'm busy converting some cymbals to a Kontak2 file, so I know they will start exactly on time. K2 has a nice cyclefunction so there won't be a machineguneffect.
But it's a lot of extra work..
