Unlike metric halo channelstrip. That's a pain in the ass. As much hate as there is to iLok, this evens it up. It's a sort of a love/hate thing with the iLok.

Never understood the hate with the iLok, it works really well, it's a breeze to authorize stuff, you can have your plugins or softwares (Pro Tools) on multiple computers (a desktop and a laptop for instance) and with ZDT I feel safer than ever!

You don't have to pay with MH ChannelStrip when you change your computer at all. You just install it, it runs in fully functional demo mode for something like 14 days I believe, during which you just request a new authorization from their website. Done it many times after clean installs or computer changes.

About Tony, being so busy sometimes he misses a mail or an order, just send him a direct mail, he will fix everything for you. I literally buy all my plugins from him unless he doesn't have them :)

I have only 2 USB ports on mac pro 13" I can't keep my mouse in if I'm recording with audio interface, because I already have External HDD. Do I have to keep iLok all the time when I'm using Slate products?
That's only reason why I don't have Slate products. I'm afraid of that iLok.
- USB hub
- bluetooth mouse
- hdd via wifi if its used only for storage (mine is connected on my wifi router and I can access it as a network disk from anywhere in my house. its slower but so practical. My printer is there as well, so i can use it via wifi)
- you have to keep the ilok in as long as a plugin requiring it is being used. I haven't tried removing it after authorizations are detected but it doesn't sound like a good idea

yeah you would need that stupid ilok plugged in at all times when using the slate plugins. The solution would be to get a usb hub. I have the same issue. I am down to only one usb port open. I hate those stupid dongles!:puke:

With my current setup (with a FireWire interface) the ilok is the only thing I need to plug !

come on guys, we've gone through the ilok thing a million times. they're being used for a reason. a usb hub is what you need, and costs just a couple of bucks, end of story.

unfortunately the ilok doesn't just cost a couple of bucks. It's 50 dollars! That's insane to me. If I buy say trigger ex, then I would have to spend another 50 percent of the cost of the plugin just for the dongle. I'm never a fan of companies punishing the buyers because of pirates. If they want the protection then it should be included in the plugin, not sold for a rediculously high price for a stupid little dongle that I'm only going to be using for that plugin.

I hate wireless mouses, because they need to be charged.
I need connected external drive because there are my sample packs, few plugins and lot of project files (audio tracks too). And I don't have router with such option.
Hub on usb can't feed mouse when there is something that need more power, like interface, but I think it could powerup ilok and mouse simultaneously and hope soon to get firewire interface.

Holy shit, that VCC+VTM bundle and the CLA comps... I don't have the cash, but I think I have to buy them.

With my last reinstall I had to send 3 emails over the course of those 14 days, and 2 after my demo expired I had my serial again. That's why an iLok system just works better.

I've heard of people losing their iLok or breaking their iLok, at that moment they weren't so happy with the iLok system.

I wanted to buy the CLA compressors at plugindiscounts. Is the only option to pay with google checkout?
I want to pay with paypal :(
I really don't want to give google my credit card number.
Can somebody help me?

I found infos at KVR
