Black Metal!

I like Nortt too. The split with Xasthur contains much better material than the other release I own, Graven. Generally, though, overrated.

it's BM-influenced funeral doom which envelopes the listener in waves of distortion, entrancing them with the subtle melody within.

:erk:

Nick. It's pretty basic doom/black...very enjoyable though! Check it out.

That wasn't hard GoD and you know it.

No it wasn't. Nor was it as useful.

I'd like to "envelop you in waves of distortion" if you know what I'm getting at, nudge nudge wink wink

<insert pun involving the name "Graham Nortton">

What albums are you basing that on? I enjoy the hell out of Nocturnal Poisoning and Telepathic With The Deceased.

Malefic's entire catalogue. I find that they all pretty much suck equally, though it seems that many are of the opinion that Nocturnal Poisoning is somehow better than the others.

Funny, Nortt sound to me just like GoD described them, but V^5's synopsis holds true as well, as they're not extremely remarkable.

Very trance-inducing, though. I haven't heard anything off the split yet, but I like it better than Xasthur already. The artist notes on M-A make it out to be like suicidal BM or something of that persuasion. Interesting...and a bit pretentious, but the music's nice.

Xasthur is awfully overrated, particularly the fact that he just re-writes his songs for each new album, or so it seems. Funeral of Being and Nocturnal Poisoning are okay, the others bore the shit out of me.

Nortt is 'ATMOSPHERIC' but if you play it in MIDI format it would suck beyond words.

Which proves absolutely not a single fucking thing

You can't notate Burzum properly either, which just tells me that the traditional system of musical notation is inadequate for some recent forms of music where specific methods of presentation and technique is crucial for the end result

Intriguing...
