Totally worth the 2 hour drive from Baltimore (and even the extra $25 after I realized the I brought the wrong set of tickets with me - oh boy!). Between Leaves' Eyes and Blind Gaurdian I couldn't have asked for two better sets. Amazing!
Sticking to my usual M.O. I'll tag onto this thread instead of starting a topic.
Here's the link to the Blind Guardian interview we did in New York City. Hansi answered most of the questions, but the rest of the band was there and chimed in from time to time. Sean Weber of 90.3 WKRB is the other interviewer. He aired a good portion of it Dec. 16th.
One interesting item was Hansi saying them were planning on returning for a more limited tour in Sept/Oct.
He didn't specifically mention cities at that point, but earlier he was naming some of the cities where they've had their best shows, so you'd think they'd include those. Here is what he said, in part:
HANSI: Gods of Metal is confirmed. We more or less play all the big ones in Europe and a good amount of them we’ll be headlining. Some we’ll be co-headlining. It really depends. But, Waken definitely we’ll be headlining. After that, we may consider coming back to the U.S. for some more shows.
AMBR: Now when would that be? That would be in like the Fall? In September?
HANSI: September/October.
The idea is probably to minimize the shows then. Do like 10, 15, whatever, then go back to Germany.
