I know my opinion wont be the majority here. I like both Brave New World and Somewhere In Time, but i actually prefer to listen to Brave New World on a more regular basis, so it gets my vote.

SIT. Twas the first Maiden studio album I heard, and even though it will never be one of my favourites, it does include three great Smith songs, and Stevie never sounded better.

SIT. Great title track, and of course WASTED YEARS!! :)

I used to think it was the weakest song on the album, but now it's my favourite Maiden song.

Well this is no surprise to me. I was just interested, thanks for voting in the poll!

I've never been into SIT much. Some days i like it, but most of the time its missing something special for me.

I LOVE them both, but i think BNW just wins it for me. SIT has too many songs i'm not that fond of, Sea Of Madness and Stranger In A Strange Land. I don't really like either of them much in comparison to BNW songs. I mean, BNW has so many GREAT songs! The Wicker Man, The Nomad, The Thin Line, Fallen Angel, Dream Of Mirrors. Almost too close to call, but BNW, just because of Stranger In A Strange Land. Never really liked that one much, but the rest of the album is amazing. Especially De Ja Vu and Alexander The Great. Not Forgetting Heaven Can Wait, of course. :)

The only problem (if you can call it a problem) with SIT is that it's almost TOO produced. It sounds like it was recorded in a studio and doesn't really have the "live" vibe that the other albums do, even when compared to SSOASS, and they don't seem to be having 'fun'. Maybe Brucies attitude at the time has somethign to do with it.

Of course, this is me talking after not having listened to it for a while. I'll listen to it again and post totally different this afternoon.

Exactly Phloggy, im listening to it right now, and the songs are good. But its those 2 things, the production is too polished for Maiden, and i think Bruce's absence from contributing to the songwriting is noticeable in his voice, and the songs. I like it, dont get me wrong, its just the overall execution of the album that doesnt quite hit the mark in my opinion.
