DOD is more in the classic Maiden mould IMO- BNW is cool but feels a little over-blown in places IMO.

I like both albums, but BNW wins this round because it has better production and mixing (ie you can hear Bruce's vocals) and less filler songs. On DoD I like Rainmaker, No More Lies, Montsegur, the title track, Paschendale and Journeyman but the rest I can take or leave. On BNW I love every song except The Nomad, and I don't even hate that as much as I used to.

I cant remember the last time I listened to DOD. I thought it was great when I bought it. Never had the motivation to give it another spin in a while though.
