apparently they shot an MIT police officer in the head a few times, hijacked the car, took some dude hostage, actually let him go, throwing bombs out of the hijacked car at police and then that older brother got killed by officers in a gunfight, then the younger brother took the hijacked car and backed over his dead brothers body and escaped. apparently he is a registered student (or someone else is) at the college I went to, UMASS Dartmouth, and it is being evacuated and ran through by fbi and swat team...pretty much like the entire city and perimeter of Boston.

Mainstream news outlets were hours behind on this debacle. They were still jibber jabbering about MIT, after the shootout and death of the older brother. The net was getting information at real time via Boston P.D scanner. Though a fair portion of the information was also erroneously coming in via reddit. Originally it was reported that the younger brother was the missing Brown University student Sunil Taphel (sp?).
