I don't know if I listened to the right Bane (from Massachusetts)... but if I did, then NO.

Dawn of Demise is good, but I don't think they're Brutal Death Metal... though I am far from an authority on the genre. If you like them check out Benighted, Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition, and some others that I'm too lazy to think of or write down.

looks like they are influenced by Cryptopsy and Disgorge(US) and a few others but i find these two bands their main influence and very rare to find. i find them to be one of the most brutal bands in the underground scene. Heavy as fuck.

Anyone seeing the Anal Blast final tour? I'm going to the local show on Saturday to sell CDs. Don Decker's going to die at any moment, so I can only imagine what the show will be like.

Saw those guys at the Vital Remains/Monstrosity show last night in Portland Or. which is where they (AB) are playing tonight. Stopping right up the road from me Tues. in Bend, and my old band is one of some locals on the show.
DD looks as if he is going to die at any moment too.

The new Origin is amazing stuff. I hate tech. death metal but this one blew me away.

I like the new Origin, too. I think it's to brutal to be considered tech death, though the riffing is very technical at times. I dig a lot of brutal death that is just fast as fuck and brutal, and not slammy.

This is seriously one of the best death metal albums I have ever heard, which is not saying much because I am not a huge, for a lack of a better word, death metal fan.

Blasturbation with a focus on technicality that severely compromises the chaotic nature that the band intended to create isn't really my thing either.

I'll admit, stuff like Origin is fun to play on guitar, to test abilities and such. However, I'll take a band that can create atmosphere and write music worth listening to any day.

Just my opinion, though this should definitely go without saying.

Uh...I like a lot of technical stuff. Origin have always been second to the more substantial technical death bands because what Origin does is really one-dimensional and boring.

Origin is good. The music is still brutal death despite being very technical. I like them much better than bands like Necrophagist.

The end result isn't greater than the sum of its parts, at least to my ears. There's a lot of technical talent in Origin, and I do spinning III every now and then, but I've heard their other recordings and I can't imagine needing to own any of them when I already have one. It's not about the wankery though; I enjoy lots of technical death, just not this particular "brand."

I picked up the new Hour of Penance at the local Newbury Comix after having had it downloaded for a while. Listening to it again a lot in the last couple days, it occurs to me that it sounds a fuckload like Nile. I really don't see how you can like these guys but dislike Nile, as it's exactly the same stylistically (the only difference being that Nile sticks to the Middle Eastern scale more). I like both bands, but I think I may even like HoP a bit better. They fucking rule.

I like HOP but not Nile. Then again I've never really bothered to are about Nile and I've liked HOP for a year or two.
