Death and the Lament
Dreamt in Silent Design
Pardon my intoxicated mistake: By "Royer" I meant Ribbon. It's pretty much synonymous for me, however incorrect that may be. Like Kleenex is to tissue.
We even refer to the knock-offs as "Royer" some parts around hear, yes, even more ignorant. I was actually surprised to see that Royer is even that old lol, the late 90's still seems five years ago to me.
But realistically, compare the cost of a record cut thirty/forty years ago before ADAT, all that 2-inch, the more jobs there were in the studio. Maybe there was more money to spend then but technologically the possibilities were more limited.
I just don't see the harm in someone taking advantage of new technology in the workplace, especially in entertainment. That doesn't mean it makes things "easier", just provides more options.
I think the main complaint most people have with Misha's productions are that aside from using very little real equipment, the music is squashed to shit dynamically, but then again metal in general is squashed beyond reason (But everyone's a victim of the loudness wars).
