Burzum - Belus (aka "Den Hvite Guden") (2010)

I would think the self titled would be more accessible since the songs are all fairly short. I don't know...it all depends on what intophagist is into (bad music amirite?!)

I guess that it's the right time for me to ask for help. What Burzum album would be the easiest for me to get into? I think that I have posted enough here for people to know my taste a little bit.

Maybe I won't like any and I'll just be wasting my time, but I still want to try.

Given that you mostly like classic metal, the shorter black metal songs should be a given. Most people progress into liking Hvis Lyset Tar Oss or Filosofem more though.

I don't know a thing about your tastes, but to break it down for you:

Burzum (s/t): A bit raw, flying in the face of the death metal standards of the time.
Det Som Engang Var: Not quite as raw, more "experimental".
Hvis Lyset Tar Oss: Bleak in its beauty, ritualistic. My favorite.
Filosofem: Has a more decrepit, vaguely "industrialized" atmosphere.
Dauði Baldrs: No more black metal, simple keyboard-based neoclassical.
Hliðskjálf: Similar to Dauði Baldrs, but sounds better.

The debut is probably the most accessible of them, if that helps.

Well, the fact that Varg said new new album would be in the vein of Filosofem is cause for excitement for those who like that one the most. Obviously.

I'm psyched.
