Bush songs Joey can do.

I don't think or want them to do any Bush songs with Joey

BUT I DO want them to play Time.

That's like asking David Lee Roth to sing some Sammy Hagar-era VH songs. That would be totally gay.

(Waiting for fucking TD to throw his 2 cents in on that comment)...

Actually one of the main reasons they dumped Joey was because they wanted to have a fresher sound, something they weren't going to be able to do with Joey because vocally he couldn't evolve. I mean could you honestly imagine Joey trying to pull off "Only" "Inside Out" or "What Doesn't Die" (just for example?

Joey doesn't have that powerful vocal that John does to be able to switch tempo and key. It's wail and yeah or nothing with Joey.
if you read Joey's interview in Blasting Zone, he said i could go with them in the new way but they didnt want me, thats the point. Joey could stay with them and record SOTWN and more!!!:OMG:but the didnt want to

Songs joey could do? alllrighty then:
Livin on a prayer
its my life
wanted dead or alive...
oh sorry, you meant ANTHRAX songs joey could sing.....How about the 'sandpaper wanking' off WCFYA?

well instead of Pantera, now they can do some Journey covers.
Ozzy doesn´t sing Tony Martin´s or Dio´s tunes.
David Vincent doesn´t sing any MA song from the previous era (my friend told me so)
Rob Halford doesn´t sing any Ripper songs
only Bruce Dickinson has no problem singing Blaze songs cos he´s the man.

I'd like to hear Rob Halford do "Cathedral Spires."

I can definately see him doing "Fuel", "Catharsis", "Born Again Idiot", and Even "Safe Home"

I swear if I have to hear Joey Belladonna doing “Fueled” I’ll carve my ears out with a rusty spoon.

Before any of you supporters of this reunion call me a “young ‘un” or a “nu” Anthrax fan, I’ll point out that I’ve been a fan ever since the Persistence of Time album came out and as soon as I heard that album I went back and picked up the ones before that.

I still get chills listening to “Belly of the Beast” with Joey singing.

When I heard that Joey was no longer in the band, I was pissed. That was until I turned on Headbangers Ball and saw the video for “Only.” What was once one of my favorite bands, became my favorite band and in my mind the best metal band out there.

While Slayer, Metallica, and Megadeth the other 3 of the big four thrash bands of the 80’s just got stale or in the case of Metallica flat out sucked after the Black album, Anthrax put out the best music out of all of them.

While the powers that be in the music industry were stupid and ignoring one of the best metal acts out there in Anthrax, I kept supporting them. Even if it meant driving two hours from my home east of Cleveland to see them at a shit whole bar in Lorain, Ohio (that was a killer show thow and I’ll never forget being able to scream a line of Hy Pro Glo into the mic with John). I’d plan my vacation days around dates when I heard Anthrax would be in town.

While supporting Anthrax the last 12 years I still followed Belladona, picked up his two solo cd’s and even had the opportunity to see him live, most recently a few months back at House of Blues in Cleveland (with a Metallica cover band on the bill no less) and have seen and heard first hand that Anthrax made the right choice in naming John Bush the singer.

Joey just doesn’t have the range that he once had, and even if he did the style that Anthrax plays today is just so much better.

I wish the band luck because I’ve always been a fan and have always wanted them to get the respect and recognition that they deserve, but I won’t be supporting this re-united line-up.

100% agreed :headbang:

Yeah, I agree with manthatfollowshell completely. Metallica lost all credibility after AJFA (which btw is their best album, imo). I was very apprehensive to find out that they were going with Bush and didn't know how they would sound. The day that SoWN came out I got it, popped it in the CD player, listened and let it infect me. Although it wasn't what I was use to hearing from Anthrax, I knew I could definitely get into it. I take Anthrax (newer) to the gym with me and it pumps me through my workout and when I go running. Bush-thrax has that hardcore edge to it that makes you want to get your ass kicked, ala fight club. Bella-thrax is more dynamic with the vocals, but it doesn't have that thick edge; good for speed metal, but not good for the heavy, heavy stuff. I just can't see Joey doing any of the newer songs. I don't think he should and I hope he doesn't.

Now, that said, I would like to see the original lineup play. The first time I saw 'thrax was on the SoWN tour, and I've been to at least 9 or 10 shows since then and they keep getting better.

Well ya know what... how about this... I say that I could sing on SOWN!!! Doesn't mean I can and doesn't mean anybody else would want me to. The band knew enough of Joey after working with him for years to know that he was incapable of singing the style they wanted to.

It's been 13 years and Joey still sings the exact same way (except he can no longer hit any high notes) and is still doing the same type of music he was doing 20 years ago. He's only fooling himself, and you, if he thinks he could have pulled off SOWN. He just isn't/wasn't a diverse enough singer to do the things that John Bush could do vocally.
