Can we add a "real world" forum to the Sneap forums??

Someone said they didn't want me to quote them, so I'll paraphrase them.

Would be cool to have a subforum for people actually into audio engineering, you know, with real microphones and real amps and stuff.

There isn't enough segregation between the various issues at hand, and there is too much ITB nonsense which has been covered time and time again.

This already exist btw...

Production tips subforum is for production/engenering related stuff.
I'm sure Andy would agree with this so why want 2 subforum for the same thing?

Sorry to be a french cunt btw:lol:

Because it is full of twats asking for the latest presets, and in the box stuff. The proposed forum is for REAL WORLD recording and engineering.

I understand the point but a new subforum can't change anything imvho.
And since Andy didn't use any impulses, programmed drum... I think he wouldn't let production subforum become an official impulse (make your choice name) place. So the best solution are to post engenering stuff on production subforum and continu to ignore lot of thread;)

Isn't really difficult to don't clip no?

analgrinder dude you aren't making any sense, why use the production forum to talk about engineering specifically...? That's for production talk. Engineers still want to talk about gear as well. My comment originally was just an e-dick move because of frustration of digging through threads about amp sims and Superior 2.0 to find the good stuff, but an actual subforum that is just for dudes micing up real cabs, micing real drums, etc. would be pretty cool I guess for a lot of the dudes here like myself who are more interested in real world audio engineering than in getting software amp tones and stuff. All that bedroom stuff is perfectly valid and I'm not telling anyone not to talk about it don't get me wrong, but it would be nice to be able to separate the two subjects for the guys who aren't interested. To me it's like having a fashion forum and a paintball forum in the same place, one isn't better than the other or anything, but they are totally different worlds to me...

Because if I read correctly this:

Productions tips... for recording, mixing and more

Production is about a musical vision and how apply this vision for get final product.
Engenering is about technical stuff for get final product (from drum tuning, mic choices and placement to mixing).
So I don't think I'm out of subject but isn't really important.
I don't try to start a flame war with you so don't took attention for what I wrote...

+ infinity

^ There are too many borderline cases.

How so?

If they are dealing with Di's that would be considered in the box. If they are micing up drums then thats out of the box. Any questions about amp sims, impulses, drum samps, plugs, dare i say presets, etc, in the box.

If they ask about a bad guitar tone from an amp with no impulses, a problem recording the vox, something about an interface, etc etc - out of the box

The only things I could see being borderline would be using things like triggers because the triggers would be considered ootb but the processing and the like would be considered itb.

This is a good idea. I'm not dissing amp sims or programmed drums, because i still use them regularly, but seriously what the fuck else can be said about them.
