This is related to my trip to Montreal. Is smuggling beer back into the USA by automobile possible? I'm under 21. Do they really give a shit about beer?

They can check if they believe it is obvious your smuggling beer. The legal age in the US remains 21 and if you are in possession of beer then they can confiscate it. I don't believe its actually treated as a full on crime, however.

Keep it well hidden, and don't take a whole crew of 19yr old guys, otherwise it will be incredibly obvious. Picking up a senile old lady and calling her your "Aunty" to border patrol will probably do the job :D

Im pretty sure if they do catch you with it, theyre just going to take it away. Ive crossed from canada and the states a lot of times and sometimes they didnt even check my ID, nevermind my car (which has never been checked) .. which is odd, but anyways, Im in BC so it could be more relaxed here.
Tell them you went to a concert or something and if they ask you if your bringing anything over tell them a t-shirt or something. Thats usually my story.

It just matters how much you have. There's a limit you can bring back. I'm sure if you have a 2-4 it won't matter a whole lot. But if you're bringing a mountain of beer. They'll care.
Just when you buy it here, ask the people at the store.

Thanks. Hopefully it's quite the same over here.

Keep the inside portion of your car (seats, floor, etc) really really clean. Spotless. So they don't suspect you have a lot of shit in your car.

Do people ever try hiding stuff in their gas tank? Not the actual tank, but the portion you stick the nozzle into? I'm willing to bet that's the last place they'd search. You'd have to put something in there that's the same diameter of the thing though, so as nothing you put in there will go all the way down :)

Use this method to smuggle sugar across the border, if you can pull it off I'll give you a cookie.

If I use that method to smuggle joints across the border, will I get hash brownies?

Last Summer when I drove back from Quebec into Vermont,
2 of my friends who were in the car with me, bought so much Vodka and Rum at the Duty Free store you could sink a ship in it...
you're only allowed to bring "one bottle per person"
and they didn't even check when we drove in the states.
I say: bring beer, when you stop at the border just act casual and cool
most chences they won't check.

you have to be 21 to enter the united states with alchohol. regardless of which border. be careful! when you stop your car just before the gate, they take a couple of random snapshots of your car. one of the front, 2 on each side, and your license plate.
if your going to hide it, dont have any more than a couple of cans, or theyll definately care. getting detained by the border patrol sucks ass. yes, they have dogs and are not afraid to use them either.

THERE ARE A LOT OF AMERICAN STATES WHERE YOU CAN DRINK AT 18...DO ANY OF THOSE STATES TOUCH CANADIAN BORDER???

Which fucking states are these?

I might consider bringing a bottle or two of hard stuff back in instead. "A couple cans" won't do it for me!
