Just in from the show. Great time! Thanks for hanging in there, Milton. Hope you feel better soon. Now stay the fuck home and rest up!!!!

Suspyre did well, though their vocals were mixed way to low. Bummer. That guy has some pipes. The new song is fucking killer! Can't wait to hear the rest of the new release.

Cellador was amazing! Never heard them live. Wherever they are, make a point to check 'em out.

Wish I could have made it, sounds like a good show. Maybe next time they roll through :) I take it everyone got in ok? Your son seemed very concerned! :heh:

Hey, Greg. Thanks for taking the panic call. We were stuck in obnoxious Jersey Shore traffic and he all of a sudden says, "This is an 18 and up club isn't it?" and I thought we'd better check. You were the only one I could think to call. There were way more under 21 in the club then over. Was a fun night. Operatika was there and so was Adam from Killswitch Engage, so we had a nice chat with all of them.

Chicago? Where's that?

Not a problem. Even the band wouldn't have been able to get in if it were 21+ Definitely sorry I missed it, would've been cool to hang with Operatika and Adam!

Thanks for the wishes Ann Marie, we stayed for as long as I could and Im glad I got to see my favorite Cellador songs. Suspyre did good but there was something missing to make me enjoy their music more. The album is good, but live I didn't think it worked as well. The vocalist is excellent!!

Im just mad I missed the Helloween cover...oh well, I get to see actual Helloween doing it in a few months...

In reply to no one in particular:

I just got back from seeing Cellador at Jaxx here in Virginia! That was just un-fucking-believable! To bad it was such a piss-poor turn-out here, though, but the folks that did show up, they were really into it!

Not only that, there was a handful of us that pretty much hung out and partied it up with the band well into the morning. They even asked me if I wanted to join them at IHop, but it was getting fucking late and I had to get home (this was pushing past 2:30 in the morning)! I would've stuck around, but there is that small matter of having to go to work. It is now 3:30 in the morning here. Those guys were awesome though (and are now very good friends of mine)! I sure as hell cannot wait to see them again!

As for covers, they did cover that aforemetioned Helloween song, as well as a DragonForce song.

I did get some pictures of the show, though. I'll have to post them up later, but now, it is time for bed!

Considering the level of promotion - and the fact that Engage was the only local with any draw - it was a better turnout at Jaxx than I expected, actually, and at least everyone was into it. Nice guys, and a really good show - I thoroughly enjoyed it.

When I looked up the address on the band's MySpace page, I could've sworn it said Kedzie, hence the Brisku's assumption. For those who asked, I saw the Chicago show. All 30 minutes of it. For starters, no Thursday night show should have four bands, especially when it's scheduled to start at 9:30. Second, when you're billed as a headliner, you should play a little longer than 30 minutes. That said, Cellador was really good. The singer sounds rougher live, but that could have just been that night. It was an extremely smoky bar, and they hit the stage even later than they had expected. That drummer is a machine! The Brazilian guitarist has some really good high harmonies, not to mention some wicked solos. All in all, I enjoyed their set, but I'm a little upset that I waited all night for a half hour set.

Stay metal. Never rust.
