I think they're mediocre. You think they're great. Talking about it will not change my mind so vote for their best album and I'll listen to it a lot in the next few days. Perhaps I've just been listening to their worst stuff.

Blood Fire Death, Hammerheart, or Twilight of the Gods. And possibly Nordland I too.

I don't know what other stuff you like, but if you don't like one of those then you have issues with your ears.

(BFD will win this by a longshot, btw)

Hammerheart - it's consistent throughout.

I much prefer the viking stuff on BFD to the other tracks, making it more inconsistent than Hammerheart.

Nordland II is probably under-appreciated.

Oh, and make sure you get "...Magni Blandinn OK Megintiri..." ok? :)

Hammerfuckingheart. I thought you loved Morrigan though? If you enjoy Enter the Sea of Flames im not really sure why you wouldnt enjoy Blood Fire Death or any of their later records.

Twilight of the Gods. His most accomplished work. All seven songs are extremely strong, and more varied than the previous stuff. "To Enter Your Mountain" is the best Bathory song IMO. Of course, I'm in the minority here.

^Very true, since Morrigan are a huge Bathory-clone. Albeit, a good one.

Woo, Hammerheart is doing much better than I expected. Erik and the other thrash-whores still have yet to vote, though :p

I guess im the only one who this Blood on Ice is OMGFUCKIGNAWSOMEZ

Nonono...it's one of my favourites :) but I'm inclined to go for Blood Fire Death in polls like this cos it's so consistent and blisteringly heavy!

I enoy all of his works except "Requiem" and "Octagon", but I have to say that "Hammerheart" is just an inch above everything else. Truly spectacular!
