Chicago Folk

Ha!
I grew up there. Plainfield H.S. Class of '98.
It's amazing how much that town has grown. When I first moved there in '91, there was a gas station and a small downtown area, where if you blinked, you missed it. The whole town rejoiced when we got a McDonald's in like 1995!

Especially when that tornado in 1990 did a lot of damage.
I remember going to Crow's Nest Records to meet Iron Maiden in 1982.
Was just there over the summer to see Guthrie Govan play @ The Plainfield School of Music.

Lived in Naperville for 20 plus years....lived in Carol Stream for 2 years....living in Uptown ( right off Lawrance and Broadway area ) right by the Aragon / Riv. Dagny_T....we are like real close. Ever go to Metal Haven? it is walking disance from Lincoln Square.

Yeah, Plainfield is to Chicago what Woodstock is to ATL!:saint:

What happened to Da Bearsssssss last night, you guys? While I am happy for our local Falcons, I am also disappointed at the Bears' loss along with y'all.

I've been there a few times. I actually just realized a couple of days ago that it was so close to me.
I know exactly the area where you live... I saw Lacuna Coil at the Borders there a few years ago. Kind of a scary area, actually.

I'm staying home this weekend, so I won't be going to the Thirsty Whale reunion, even though it sounds like a blast. For those of you that do go, please take photos, and I expect a full report. ;)

That would be awesome! That places really rocked before it was demolished! I saw Lillian Axe there back in the day!
