Chicago Peeps - Orphaned Land

Wifey and I will be there. We have to be somewhere earlier that evening so we're going to be late. To bad I have something to do I would have gone straight there after work and gotten dinner, they have good food and a great beer selection in the other room.

Vito you have the set order and times yet? I really dont want to miss you guys again.

Yeah, Shreddy, this is where I am at too.
I will be pissed as hell if I go and miss ND's set.
Granted, I love Katatonia, and am interested in seeing both STS and OL, but if ND weren't there, I doubt I would even be considering it.

As Jose said, Katatonia are great live. Only saw them once when they supported Moonspell

I want to see all the bands on the bill dont know much about STS but I'm sure they're decent if they're on the bill. I enjoy the venue so much that I'd settle for 1 or 2 bands that I want to see to drag me out there. Also I owe it to my wife to take her to the show because she couldnt make it to yet another Prog Power thats 3 now that she's missed.

I don't know our exact time slot yet, but I do know we go on second. Reggie's website says the show starts at 7pm, but it's an all ages show so I can't see this thing starting at 7pm with five bands on the bill. Paul had mentioned Sunday that he thought we go on around 7 or 7:30. I'll try to find out for sure tomorrow and post it.

Weird. I would think Katatonia is more popular than Moonspell.

Yeah, but Moonspell had already done a few US tours already by that point I know they did one with Lacuna Coil, and another with Opeth, and they may have done one even earlier with In Flames I think). This was KAtatonia's first full US Tour (who previously had only done Milwaukee Metalfest and BWBK).

I agree though that if this tour were to happen again, KAtatonia would most likely headline.

Moonspell is one band I will never get. EVERY song and album sounds so much different. What genre aside from power metal have they NOT tried yet?

The interesting thing about the Katatonia-Moonspell tour a few years back is that in every show I attended (I was actually at 4 different stops on that tour), the venue got considerably emptier after Katatonia. Perhaps the only exception was New York, although you could definitely tell the difference.

Moonspell has done more US tours than Katatonia and had established a fanbase prior to that.

might be checking this out. seems like a good lineup for $20

edit - just bought a ticket....november's doom sounds pretty cool from the myspace. Hope they will have that new CD available! See you all there hopefully - I'll be going solo so it'd be nice to meet up with some progpower people.

Thanks for checking out Novembers Doom! We will have our new CD there for sale, as well as our other merch.

Btw, I'm absolutely terrible at recognizing people, case in point was the Dianno show where a lot of you met up and couldn't find anyone. So, I will be in an Opeth shirt if that helps.
