Out of all the bands I've heard, the following five would be my favourite:
1) Children of Bodom
2) In Flames
3) Dimmu Borgir
4) Lamb of God
5) Cradle of Filth

This is based on the fact that I've heard more good songs from these bands, though they probably kick ass more. There are excellent bands such as Finntroll but I haven't heard much of them to classify them

Eternal Alchemist: Wooooahhh! Cradle made your list. WHen i was barely getting into metal, i thought LOG were one of the best bands ever. They were 2nd best. Then i found more metal and i realised LOG weren't that great.
