There is also that riff in the previous mozart post:

A couple posts back someone said this melody is in Northern Comfort, you pointed out it's in a Sinergy song, and it sounds like it's in Touch Like Angel of Death too...... my god he's used that song a lot haha

That laid to rest one is note for note the same haha, and thank you deadbeat, that's one I haven't heard before.

Since this thread has grown over a page I remark there are songs I've discovered to have influenced a COB song incidentally, sub-consciously, or just inspired COB to perfect something they saw an insufficient musical idea. Such as Bed of Razors (Alice in Hell or was it Alice in Chains, some song), Banned from Heaven (intro is similar to Fire in the Sky by Hypocrisy), Hellhounds On My Trail (chorus is from Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King), Northern Comfort (that legendary melody, I've seen a very similar one sang by a female in a chorus in this peaceful dance/disco song I will never find again to name)... that I can remember now. Other than that there are many song parts, which have roots in a song idea by another artist, which have been discussed in the past. They even took classical melody ideas from dudes like Beethoven and turned them into malice like Hatebreeder. It's good the original melodies invented by COB are usually too tricky to play so not every rapper and trance noob gets to go all over them in their little songs and convince the facebook world they're genious.

I think Angels don't Kill [0:21] and Hell is for Children [0:12], ofcourse it is not borrowed at all, but just a feeling like it was an inspiration.

(For YBOD / SnD above, maybe it's similar but I don't think it has any link between)

And ofcourse, there is this:

Alexi has said somewhere, that he did use some classical thingies straightly in the first albums. But I don't think he intentionally used, for example, those Pantera riffs, because in another interview he said he smashed his head on the wall because he accidentally almost ripped some Panteras riff. So I think he hasn't noticed them, at least until later. And as for similarities, for example Blooddrunk intro has obviously been influenced by Lamb of Gods Ashes of the Wake.

But like they have said, everyone has their influences. :)

I'd say the ones you guys posted definitly influenced them in the writing, but I wouldn't say he ripped off of those. I always thought TCHB sounded like over the mountain too, they're pretty similar.

He didn't. It was a joke, I don't get why folks here tend to think he ripped it off
