Chugs with Amp Sims

What I am trying to get is the buffet that comes from air hitting the mic. That pulsing weight that you feel when you hear it. Since there is no air involved with amp sims I am trying to figure out how people have been getting close to the effect.

After working more with Le Cab2 it seems that by messing with the delay by a few ms I can kind of get closer to what I want. Still working out what combinations work best but so far a center IR up close and an edge IR out by around 1.2-1.5 ms seems to work pretty well. I also stick a fred IR where ever it sounds good. In the demo I posted all of the IR's were loaded onto the cab without any tweaking.

What a noob huh? :)

Oh alrighty. Listen to this thing I did the other day, sounds like it has realistic low end, kinda. I use keFIR though. Dunno if these chugs have that thick sound you are talking about?

Close but it sounds like you used the kick with some compression to give the impression of heavier chugs. Most listeners probably wouldn't notice but I don't want the kick confined to the rhythm guitar patterns for this one. Yours sounds far more metal than mine right now though. :)

This is similar to what i am going for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1WS4bX5Zmw#t=3m11s

Now I know what you mean. It's not that far from what I did in my clip, it's just that they have way heavier sounding guitars than I and they pick hard and tight enough to bring the low end/mids to the front. Did you record DI's so I can check them out?

You are Freaking awesome! I can't afford the Waves multi right now though. Does anyone have any opinons on how the 64 bit Multi from Cakewalk compares? It came with Sonar and I use it quite a bit.
