Church of Australian Metal

great stuff - l quite like what Vahrzaw does with death/black stuff. Do you know them CIG? they are from WA if l remember right? Used to chat to them on myspace and really piss George the singer off cause l though he sucked

Nope, new to me. Unless I blocked them out. I did attend a good deal of local black metal shows though so there's a chance I saw them.

Vic is/has been pretty prolific with a lot of thrash/death/black metal bands over the years.
I think I remember some of the bands from the 80's and 90's too fondly at times because revisiting some of them I'm shocked I ever liked them :)

I'm not quite sure how to feel about Rebel Wizard. I've checked out their past stuff and there have been moments where I enjoyed the music but I'm not a fan of the vocal style and a few other things here and there.

I'm not a huge fan. Some of their song titles read like King Gizzard song titles mixed with Frenzal Rhomb titles, but they aren't as catchy.

Haven't really given them a chance, although I probably should have.

Listening to Anarion right now. I haven't got their first album but they've got some fast riffing and reasonable tracks on the other two solid releases. AFAIK they are no more.

I've no comment on Tasmanians, I'm related to some, but I don't mind that song.

I'm going through my lists of stuff which I've been sent, or told about and starting at A these guys are one of the first.
I probably should have looked through the thread to see if they were posted too save double ups.

Talon and Teeth is a pretty damn good opener to a debut album and for the most part Salvation Like Destruction is a killer debut.

At times I think both are a little hard to take. It seems like the vocalist in both bands pushes it a bit hard at times and it doesn't always pay off, but both play pretty darn fast with some killer riffing and blasting drum beats.

Some of the song titles from Atomizer are more interesting that the lyrics and the album The Only Weapon of Choice - 13 Odes to Power, Decimation and Conquest doesn't really roll off the tongue that well, but I suppose it's not going to be mixed up with too many other album titles.
