Often the digital version of the album comes out way earlier. Amount of times I was going to add an album to a 'best of' list only to find out it came out the year before on Bandcamp or some other digital album hosting site.

On any other year the album wouldn't make my top 10, but for Aussie only in 2017 it's not a bad bit of stoner.

Checking it out now, yeah not for me. Some nice grooves though, sounds like QOTSA tried to sound like Earthride.

I think the album builds towards the last few songs, I think the second song is the weakest, but there is definitely better stoner stuff out there.

Dethlahem from Perth sound ok on first listen. Their current album is available from their bandcamp page for nothing in a less refined format with an alternate track listing to the official release of this year. Good way to test some new thrash before you have to make a purchase if you like it.

I'm just on a very basic level not much of a fan of stoner metal/rock.

I've never given much aussie stoner a go. I've been a fan of Kyuss for years and even liked most of the offshoots of Kyuss but until recently I don't think I could have named an Aussie stoner band, at least none that are around these days.

Pod People comes immediately to mind, though they mix it with death/doom. Then you have the more light-hearted stoner rock band Tumbleweed.

Pod People I only recently discovered and I would never have called Tumbleweed stoner but that was because I never liked them. We had them play a gig for us once in '93 and they were terrible,

Alternative rock band very heavy on the Kyuss/Fu Manchu vibe, by way of Mudhoney or something.

Yep, the was one of the songs they fucked up badly enough for the crowd to boo them off stage. Still they weren't the worst pop band we ever hosted.

Yeah that's true there is a lot of inconsistency in stoner bands, especially live.
Although rockstars who believe themselves to be more entitled than their reputation deems are worse.
But on the upside there are plenty of stoner bands who can release twenty albums in a month and still not lose any of their creative edge

@Slammed , check out The Ruiner if you haven’t. Ex-guitarist and vocalist from Christbait and bass player from Blood Duster. Other two guys are from Legends of Motorsport.

The Ruiner are on my list to get around to. I didn't know who was in the band but the name was there. A quick listen and they sound ok for stoner metal. Better than Dr.Colossus the Simpsons themed stoners that wrote a song about the other Ned Flanders metal band.

Haven't gone looking for a clip but Disintegrator are some half decent aussie trash crossover.
