I'm not the biggest fan of this band but I thought I'd throw their name out here if anyone wants to chime in. Evidently they produced their album themselves and I think it sounds phenominal. I thought it was worth posting.

BTW if I ever use the term "chime in" again, feel free to boot me out of this forum.

The album sounds great, of course the guy who mixed it has done a few good things in his day :)

CM is the first "prog metal" band I have liked in about 10 years. They were just as good live, and I'll get to see them again in September!

Funny that Circus Maximus is mentioned overhere.
Awesome band, finally a new band that really blows me away.
The first chapter sounds quite good but also some things good be improved I guess. Wtf, this is a very talented band and they are writing new stuff at the moment.......keeping an eye on them:loco:

I've never heard of them, I'll have to see if I can find an MP3 or 12.

GGI - "chime in" is not so bad. Just don't ever say, "would you be a peach and tell me more about your recording chain?" and then certainly do not finish up with "that's lovely".

Been a fan of these guys for just under a year now... To me it's like Dream Theater with better vocals and a more all around metal feel.

Really good stuff!

Yeah, Dream Theater meets TNT.
Played their album on my way home from work, can't get enough of them.
If you like this kinda stuff a little bit darker you should give Beyond Twilight a shot. Danish band, incredible music. The guys from CM also did some vocals on their latest album "Section X". Worth checking out.

Straight from the guitarists, the guitars were done with a PSA-1 Sansamp preamp into a Marshall tube poweramp, and Marshall 1960 cabinet.

Leads were all done with some sort of POD... I still can't believe it.

K.. Snagged this disc.

Love this guys leadwork (mostly because he is a big fan of augmented wanking).

He is on the same level as petrucci.

The problem I have is that the production is nowhere near that of DT.

Some of the vocals are REALLY high pitchy/stacked up/gaelic in a lot of spots.

I dont know TNT, so im not sure how it all adds up.

This is a really solid band.. but I'd rather listen to Dali's over this or to DT. James LaBrie grates me.. the dude tries my patience, but I tolerate him. Same as I will tolerate the Circus Maximus dude (it was $12.73 after all, heh)...

Anyone ever hear Gianluca Ferro?! That guy is really tasty.

Also.. this gnarly french band Venturia?!

I have to say, I kinda dig Kamelot's new shit, too... since they've gotten to be just a tad bit ballsier.
