Jet fuel DOES burn hot enough to make steel maluable enough to be stucturally unsound though, A blacksmith doesn't melt a sword before using the hammer to shape it, he heats it up to make the steel maluable enough to be bent as he desires. The columns bent, they didn't melt.

Really, a lot of the conspiracy theories make a little sense. Who killed JFK, Roosevelt knew about Pearl Harbor beforehand... they all at least make some sense... but every 9/11 conspiracy theory I've ever heard has been a fucking farce. Right up there with the moon landing conspiracy theory.
