Classics Reborn

That's one band I've really struggled with over the years. Their first few albums were good, but then they really didn't grow as a band. Their last album was not terrible but it still sounds like they haven't achieved anything since that second or third album.
Same here, I'm not sure if they would have done what they did without the Satan gimmick.

I know some bands were described as having a grungy sort of sound but Hard Rock dominated that scene pretty completely and AC/DC was one of the kings even the albums that weren't as big, as you have said. A band like Soundgarden were about as under the radar as it got in the mid 80's. I didn't realize AC/DC billed over Ozzy.

AC/DC first did Donington in 81 as a support and despite Back in Black and For Those About To Rock being released before Donington they hadn't kicked the band to the huge status they were to become. They toured hard after FTATR and with BIB only a year before they had the momentum that took them into Flick of the Switch in 83. Although FOTS wasn't as huge (and I think was more popular because of the previous releases despite it being a good album) they rode into 84 as the biggest rock act in the UK and even Ozzy couldn't match them at the time. In the US it was probably different, Ozzy, Van Halen and Motley were huge and getting bigger whereas I don't think AC/DC had reached those heights by then.

Exactly. He needs an ego stroke and proper groveling.

I think he needs to remind himself that (according to him) he is still part of the board and therefore would know what is going on in the band and also have some choice on what happens and how it happens.
Can just imagine the board meeting.

"Should we invite KK back into the fold for a few gigs?"
"Yeah"
"Yeah"
"Okay"
"I think we should offer him a heartfelt hand written letter scented with rose water that outlines how much we need him and how special he is. We should also remind him that he is a rock god and the only one worthy of such a position. As remuneration for his services I also believe we should kiss his feet on a daily basis while stroking his manhood and telling him we appreciate him and forever bow at his feet. On top of that he should get paid a lot of money and be the only one to do interviews."
"Thank you for your input KK, motion denied!"

Maybe that's the problem with the board meetings, KK turns up in the third person but he never tells himself what actually happened and he feels out of the loop.

By the sound of he needs the entire board to be made up up KK's and even then he'd still have trouble getting a majority vote!

Haha is getting funnier every day. Clive's saying fuck all now (which is surprising for a politician) but the ads are still running along with about 4 different ads for the same party that don't use the song. Not sure if there is a delay between the news happening and Blabber happening but it seems like Dee is about three days behind.

I think Dee's being a bit of a dick here, I don't think he should let Clive just use the tune, but making a scene and not letting Universal Music handle it makes him look desperate for publicity, especially when he starts making claims about how much Clive understands about truth and law. Those sort of statements might well be true, but it's hardly big news, the guy is a politician he understands truth and law as it effects him and cares little about anyone else. And that "great australian workers" line fuck off Dee you've got no idea what your talking about. You've read a fucking headline in Fairfax media and decided started throwing them around. There is a lot more to it than just one fat cat at the top of a huge business that sacked it's workers.

About the only educated part of Dee's rant is the comparison to Trump because like Trump's wall the big fat man decided he wanted to build something epic too. He was planning to rebuild the Titanic, however he did claim he'd share it with all Australia, I'm not sure Trump is sharing his wall.

Oh and the 'vote against' him line? Again Dee don't get involved in shit you don't know. He is one man, he is not a party. We have a two party system here and he CANNOT be voted into a major seat of power, he could only ever be a voice. However there is only about 20,000 people in the entire country who can vote HIM in, even if his party was to secure seats in the parliament does not mean he gets in.

Yeah, why isn't he letting the record company do this? Ohhh. Publicity.

With a tour here in about three weeks and the ability to still reserve the max number (10) of tickets to all four shows in venues that hold less than 1200 people I wonder if publicity is really what he needs :)

Ah, the old any publicity is good publicity ploy.

Yeah unfortunately it seems that the fat man using Dee's music was good timing. We haven't even got an election date announced but the fat man has been running his campaign for about three months. I think it's too much to suggest that both sides orchestrated this but I'm sure both sides and loving the free publicity. Not sure how it's going to help Dee as most of the people who read news papers probably aren't his target audience but I'm sure ticket sales will boom in the next week or so.
