Classics Reborn

It's truly amazing to see a band like MC suggest someone, anyone, actually ripped them off, nothing MC have done since they came out was original.
I truly don't understand why he thinks anyone gives a shit about it one way or the other. He seems to think people are choosing sides over it. Nobody gives a fuck about the stage thing. As you said, everyone does it. It's making him and Tommy look complete morons.

I really have no notion of this guy so I guess it doesn't change my opinion of him lol. I would be curious to know how a Misfits fan feels about it.

TBH I don't know him either, I've never been a huge Misfits fan, they have some good tracks but they were just another band to me. Danzig's solo stuff was the same, I could like some of it but some of it was just too weird. I wouldn't mind betting that the Misfits have a large group of old school fans that would still see them, although I believe ticket sales for the reformed band (with Lombardo) haven't been as good as Danzig hoped, or said they'd be. Truth or not it might well be a publicity thing, he's getting his name out there (KK style) and I think they are still playing the reunion tour, but if he's got a solo career I wouldn't have a clue about it and I certainly wouldn't pay $50 to see him no matter how silly his comments.

Yeah it's a weird stance to take. Like them or not KISS are still huge and their sell out shows prove people want to see them. MC have nothing booked other than a movie and I believe they even signed some BS about not coming out of retirement which obviously isn't binding but would make them look like dickheads if they broke it. To me it's like MC are trying to alienate fans right at the point in time when they need as many as they can get because they have fuck all to sell.

Haha, agree. I just saw the picture of the guys in the dirt. Bwahahaha! wtf. This is Crue's last grasp at anything unless they come out of retirement and this is what they do? The people don't look anything like them.

I think that without make up and masks it would be difficult to make them look like the band but you are right they look nothing like them and resemblance, or lack there of, is going to be a big part of how believable it makes the story

When I first saw the rapper dude I thought they'd just gone down the street and picked out the scrawniest tattooed bean pole they could find, but it appears he's actually known by some people.

I think it's funny that the first and maybe last new music they do they use a rapper to get attention so they aren't even really standing on their own in my opinion.. and of course it's Lee's guy lol.

Maybe Tommy and Nikki are right, they did invent the crane to shift people on and off a stage, but in their case it was just a method of getting Vince from the bus to the stage.

I've never seen that interview but Mike has said some very interesting things over the years. In the early days some of what he said sounded like he was being controversial for the sake of it, i.e. talking and writing about topics he knew would make them talked about. But right wrong or otherwise it became clear he actually believed what he was saying and believing in your own words is more important than believing in someone elses. They alienated a lot people who could have been fans in the early days and they got a lot of fans probably for the same reason. Now however many years on Mike's still talking the same talk and the same shit is still going on.

They were a very popular band here when they were happening. Daryl Cotton (lead singer) was a bit of a sex symbol for the women and a genuine nice bloke, he did all sorts of things with music and TV before he died. Beeb (guitarist) was a quite hero of the day and went on to bands like The Little River Band who we huge, so huge that a partially related American stole the name and now plays clubs anywhere but Australia using the name and playing the music the original band created. They also gave Rick Springfield a huge kick in his career. Rick went on to make the number 1 world wide hit Jessie's Girl and then moved to America and never came back here. They were a big band for the very early 70's.

In more KK news I went into the cheap bookshop yesterday and if anyone wants it they still have KK's book for $32.99. In slightly sad news there is only one copy left which means some sap bought a copy.
