Talk about localised rain. I just ducked out to get some diesel and do some other jobs. I came out of the service station and didn't get wet walking to the car. By the time I pulled out on the road there was drops on the window. Less than 10 secs up the road I had to wait for a very slow moving extremely long train. While I was waiting the rain got heavy. A minute later the wipers on high speed were not enough, another minute later the roads were bone friggen dry. All that happened within 10 mins of home and home got no rain at all.

Holy crap. That's fucked! We do get weather like that but the droughts and heat are not nearly as extreme so it's not as big a deal.

As much as the droughts have always been part of this country they have never been so wide spread. Something like 90% of the state of New South Wales is declared a drought zone. The really fucked part is that I heard on the news last week the Victorian government is considering lifting the drought declaration on parts of this state because of the rain fall they had. As soon as they see rain flowing down gutters the fuckers convince themselves the drought has broken and they can stop funding drought efforts, meanwhile the people that live in those areas are wet for a few days then it goes back to being bone dry.
