Oh yeah he looked bad. The police claim he was on drugs and drunk, the pictures of him pretty much backed that up whether he was or not.

His biggest problem was that when he was busted the gang guy he hired to kill the person was in the house.

Yeah all the actors that have come from there we've claimed as our own, but we don't want Phil Rudd.

It was funny to hear Rudd chime in and say they should bring Dale Evans (very first singer before Bon) back as a replacement for Brain. I think he was hoping that if they got Dale instead of someone new they might also take him back.

Yeah but in Lars' defence he could only ever play half of what was there anyway!

Video cameras then weren't what they are now but there is some good live footage of the band back around that time when they really sounded like a good tight band. Some of their performances today, even the pro shot ones, lack that band feeling that they used to have. It often seems like it James and Lars in a band and Kirk and Rob are just there to make up numbers.

I remember years and years ago there was a rock song, which I don't remember, and the drummer was behind a 53 piece kit and it looked stunning and great, just like Lars' kit, but like Lars I eventually realised the guy in the film clip was only using a few of them too. It was like a shattered dream

I didn't know where to put this but I stumbled across these retro sounding early Maidenesque power metal dudes!

Interesting. Will have to give that a listen tomorrow. Was just looking them up on metal archives and they look kind of interesting.

Not sold on the vocals of Iron Kingdom but the music isn't bad, might have to give it another listen or find something else of theirs to hear more of that voice and see if it changes my mind.

I'll give them another go when I get a chance just to see how the vocals compare on a few tracks because some singers do vary song to song. But Priest snaps me out of a lot of things

Yeah but it's from Sad Wings of Destiny so it's 40 years old and Halford didn't know he sounded like that then

It's been a while since I listened to SWD but from memory there is quite a bit of Sabbath influence on that album

The vocals made me picture someone like Geddy Lee from the 70's a bit nerdy and possibly a cape

I just never heard that lower voice of his in the beginning there. I've heard his lower register but not sounding like that. but I didn't listen to any Priest until Painkiller.
