Haha okay I've never heard that before.

Their 2000 album kind of sucked, no energy. But the album after that In The Arms Of God is pretty good. Would have been great except the drummer they had isn't really a metal drummer.

I've spent quite a bit of time in warehouses and big tin sheds. Referring to the 'Mezz' is just something every knows means is the storage space above things, not a room or a separate level.

I do remember reading something about their drummer at one stage but by then I was loosing interest in their music. They were another band that didn't get a lot of air play or coverage in this country.

Yeah she's released some good stuff but not really reached the heights of heavy without Warlock, well not by herself, she's done some decent duets over the years that got heavy.

26 years since Horrorscope, still one of the best albums I own. It was one of the first albums I actually made an effort to buy on it's release day. I remember trying to get a dude kicked off community radio for playing the song with swearing in it but I kept picking the wrong song because the album was only a week old and I couldn't remember all the names of the songs.

Powerslave 33 and Painkiller 27, two more albums that a regular players in this house.

Great album. I wouldn't mind a return of the guitar players.

..... you were trying to get someone kicked off community radio for playing a song with a swear or swears? in it?

Back in the 80's and 90's, not sure if it's still the case now, swearing on radio was a no no here and because community radio couldn't afford the fine like commercial radio they kept check on swearing and Blood Money had the line "Fuck you insecurity" towards the end.

So if someone reported it to..your version of our FCC I guess? they risk losing their license?
I know GTA was banned over there for several years. I think you have it now but I have no idea if
it's the same exact version.

Most of the time the issue was dealt with at the station level, the presenter would get replaced for anything from a week to a month depending on what was let through. It was only bad cases that got escalated to fine or repeated incidents that risked licences.

All sorts of shit got banned, we didn't have a PMRC but the government department that was in charge of classifications banned shit but it was always banned after the release. I never played GTA but I got Body Count's first album then it got banned for the song Cop Killer. NWA's album got banned about the same time and then some expert decided banning was silly and they put "Explicit Lyrics" stickers on everything. Games were different they went straight to classifications just like movies. The first game I remember being banned was Phantasmagoria which came on 8 CD's it was before GTA and banned due to graphic horror, but like everything it was banned months after the fact and there was heaps of copies already on the streets. Within twelve months it was available again with a R18+ rating that stopped kids buying it.

So were you able to get through in time before the station got busted?

Oh man lol the pmrc. bunch of uppity political housewives lol God that was a shitty time!

So even though lots of things got banned you basically still have them is that right?

Most of the time we got caught before it happened, either we picked songs the DJ knew or in my case with Overkill I kept choosing the wrong song.

I don't really remember anything popular getting banned. GTA wasn't popular, it only really became popular in later versions here. Body Count was a virtually unknown release to anyone but metal heads who bought it before it was banned anyway. Phantasmagoria I didn't even know anyone who bought that game until 10 years after and there was worse available. There was a lot of grossly over reported bans in this country I remember reading in the 90's in Kerrang that Australia had banned all these death metal albums like Cannibal Corpse and Carcass but in actual fact they were reviewed and warning stickers were put on them and the worst that happened to most of them was they got an adult restriction which was useless anyway.

Yeah we got the parental advisory stickers. And in most cases that just made me want it more. The day Slave To The Grind came out a bunch of us went to go get it. And my friend thought he was really slick for some reason thinking he was getting away with something by getting the one without the sticker? I don't really know what he was thinking. All I know is he wasn't very happy later when he heard Get the Fuck Out and he didn't have it lol.

Body Count was the same here, people heard it got banned, then when it was re-released they decided they had to have it after all the hype and couldn't work out why it was banned but the re-released sticker version was missing Cop Killer.

I don't care about the sticker but it pissed me of when they printed the advisory onto the fucking cover! Thankfully I only have one like that though.
