Classics Reborn

Yeah I guess Testament did kind of stand out, they had a few releases during the dead years but they were still fairly solid and true to the music. F&J for me were not as solid, their late 90's albums are not ones I go back too that often. That's not to say they aren't good, they just aren't goto albums for me. While I applaud Overkill for their output and effort I think they suffered a bit after I Hear Black and right up to The Electric Age. It wasn't that they were producing garbage, more so that it appeared almost like they were fulfilling a contract and not putting 100% into each song.

The whole Megadeth thing still has me baffled. Nick and Jnr have blamed Dave for the change and they have blamed the label for forcing Dave to change. I don't really know who is at fault, although I wouldn't have thought Dave would be dictated too like that, but there is several years of Megadeth that should not have happened.

If any band needed a rest in the 90's it was definitely Exodus, god knows what we'd have got if they followed Force Of Habit immediately!! Kreator were the same, when they went to industrial metal they sucked badly. Sodom was not as bad but they dipped in the mid years too.

I do however think that with so many of the earlier bands not producing as much, not producing as good, or just not producing, it gave more space for other newer bands. Bands like Warbringer, Power Trip, Municipal Waste helped bring thrash back and then some of the older bands came back with them.
This 100%

I never got the appeal of INXS, it's not that I hated them, they did have some reasonable music and talent, I just couldn't figure out how they appealed to so many people in the world. We had so many better bands in this country and Michael Hutchenson stole my girlfriend!! Well okay maybe she wasn't my girlfriend at the time but I used to have a major crush on Kylie Minogue which started before Michael started dating her!

Happy 69th to Rob Halford, hope they are working on a killer album for their 50th

This time last year certain ex members of JP and some press types were canning JP for trying to celebrate their 50th in 2020 instead of 2021 the year of the first release, looks like those people got their wish.
