Classics Reborn

I didn't see that, but I did find a 320kbps link last night and gave it a listen. Probably unfair to judge on one listen but, it does appear to drag on a little into disc 2 where the long songs are. However there is some classic Maiden in there, there's stuff you can feel follows on from TBOS and there is stuff that doesn't really fit next to anything else Maiden. Off first listen I don't hate it, but I'm not sure it's going to be a classic Maiden release. My local shop opens in 90 mins (for collection only) so I'll have my copy then and will give it another listen and see how it goes.

I don't really know, because I don't know what they meant when they talked about surprises. It's not like they break into a bit of Michael Jackson half way through or Bruce turns into Chuck and starts throwing down the death growl. There's different breaks, different tempo, different sound, but I think Maiden's done that a lot mid song over the years.

According to the site the image came from his name is Rob McKillop and he did bass on all albums up to Impact.
I can't find anything about why he left through

Yeah I don't remember his name coming up often. Even on the website the picture came from people are talking about ex members like Kirk, one person even mentions that guy who went off to join Slayer, but no one talks about the guy who played bass on 5 albums.

Don't know much about it (other than it's coming with multi covers that don't look too bad), but Janick Gers first band White Spirit is releasing an album soon, first since Janick left I believe. I don't think Janick has been a part of it but the brief look I had this morning didn't show a member list. However if it's as good as the debut it will be some classic old school NWOBHM.

White Spirit (the S/T album) is a really cool NWOBHM album, Janick's guitar playing is unmistakable. But I have no idea what the band is doing 40 years on. As far as I can tell they haven't been together in any real form since '81.

Oh yeah, he did their one and only album in '80 (was re-released as an expanded edition in '81).He did two albums for Gillan in 81 and 82. Double Trouble is one of Gillan's best. He then went back to university and got a degree. in 85 he did an EP for Gogmagog which included Paul Dianno and Clive Burr but the band broke up. He then did bits and pieces for bands like Fish before being asked to do Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter for Bruce's Tattooed Millionaire album. It was after that song in 89 or 90 the Adrian left Maiden and Steve asked him to join.
